IMSI
Currently, the most widely used in vitro fertilization technique in assisted reproduction is ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection). It consists of the microinjection of a single sperm into the oocyte in order to promote fertilization.
As a complementary technique, IMSI (Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection) represents an evolution of ICSI indicated in specific cases, such as previous fertilization failures or severe sperm morphological alterations.
What is the IMSI ?
In ICSI, a sperm with good mobility and morphology is selected at about 400 magnifications and injected directly into the cytoplasm of the oocyte through micromanipulation.
In IMSI, selection is performed with a magnification greater than 6,000 magnifications, which allows a much more precise morphological assessment before microinjection, especially useful in complex cases.
Both techniques are carried out with high-resolution microscopes equipped with micromanipulation and thermal control systems to guarantee optimal conditions in the laboratory.
IMSI cost
Each person and each case is different. Therefore, the cost of treatment may vary depending on medical needs and the techniques recommended to increase the chances of success.
