ROPA Method
The ROPA method is one of the techniques available for LGBTIQ+ couples.
The biological mother undergoes ovarian stimulation and donates her oocytes to be fertilized in the laboratory with donor sperm. Once the embryo is obtained, it is transferred to the gestational mother’s uterus to carry the pregnancy.
What is the ROPA method?
The ROPA method (Reception of Partner’s Oocytes) is an assisted reproduction technique specifically designed for couples formed by two women who wish to actively share the process of motherhood.
In this procedure, one woman undergoes ovarian stimulation to obtain oocytes, which are fertilized in the laboratory with donor sperm. The resulting embryo is then transferred to the uterus of the other woman, who will carry the pregnancy.
Stages of the ROPA method

Start of Ovarian Stimulation (Both Women)
Synchronization of menstrual cycles with hormonal treatment. The biological mother begins ovarian stimulation to obtain eggs, while the gestational mother starts endometrial preparation with estrogens.
